Vanilla cake is a classic dessert loved by many for its simple yet delightful flavor. This recipe yields a moist and fluffy vanilla cake that can be enjoyed on its own or dressed up with frosting and decorations for special occasions.
Ingredients
- Dry ingredients:
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- 10 g baking powder
- 2 g salt
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- Wet ingredients:
- 200 g granulated sugar
- 120 g unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 5 ml vanilla extract
- 240 ml milk
- 200 g granulated sugar
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch (20
cm) round cake pans.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar
together until light and fluffy (about 3–5 minutes).
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in
the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating
with the milk. Start and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until just
combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the
center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to
wire racks to cool completely.
- Frost with your favorite frosting once the cakes are fully cool (optional).
Serving
Serve the vanilla cake at room temperature and enjoy. For an extra treat, add a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
