I recently watched Lex’s video and took some notes:
Mantra
Rules and constraints: Limited time for social media use. Strict
diet rules: low carbs. Strict exercise routine: even when injured, focus
on working the parts of the body that are unaffected. (My mantra:
Time is limited and irreversible, so make every moment of your day
count).
Gratitude: Visualize and meditate on the possibility of dying today.
Practice breathing exercises. Reflect on the incredible gift of being
alive.
Long-term goals: Ambitious, big goals for the next 5
years.
Short-term goals: Achievable goals by the end of the
year.
Visualize the day: Focus on the day and visualize yourself
successfully getting through it. Picture the hardest part of the day and
the struggle it may bring. Now, see yourself overcoming it and crushing
every challenge.
Core principles: Cliche but remind yourself: Empathy, love and
compassion. And character, integrity and strength. Both physical and
mental.
Flow of the Day
Wake up: sleep 6-8 hours/day.
Mantra: Written on a piece of paper, he goes through it every
morning.
Deep Work Session 1 (4 hours): No distractions. If anything comes to
mind, write it down and immediately refocus. Only take water and
bathroom breaks, nothing else. Push through the full 4 hours with
intensity and get it done. He’s usually drained by the end, but
satisfied.
Social media and guitar: 10+20 minutes respectively.
Exercise: (1.5 hours): He runs 6-8 miles, then follows up with about
20 minutes of bodyweight exercises like push-ups, pull-ups, and
more.
Shower: Starts with a cold shower 1 min (listens to a song to
measure the min)
Deep work 2 (4 hours): As above
Eating: Intermittent fasting, eats once a day. Keto diet.
Shallow work (4 hours): Replies emails, edits video, etc.
Reading: 1 hour of paper reading followed by 1 hour of fiction
reading. If feeling tired, he reads at the desk; if feeling energized,
he reads in bed.
