I remember reading Nassim Taleb’s advise on not-to-read newspapers. If you must read, then read newspapers from one year ago, by doing so you can judge the news with your current perspective.
News manipulate our mind:
The good news: nice things + positive feedback + encouragement
The bad news: drama + negative feedback + controversy
Consider workplace or the community we live in, a high rise building, a city block or town. News float everywhere and influence us in the decisions we make. We must separate the wheat from the chaff. And these days it simply means turn off the news or don’t read newspaper.
